St. Peter’s first ever Cultural Food Festival, Flavorful Journeys was a massive hit! This was a
fun and educational event that enticed your senses. The fourth grade class invited their
families to showcase their culture to the school through food. Students went around the world
visiting different countries with their passports and friends. Family members participated by
serving food and then of course tasting the other stations’ foods. We had over thirty different
desserts, side dishes, and main dishes to try! The foods came from all over the world such as
India, Ireland, Scotland, and much more! We also had a special guest come over from the
rectory to bless our food and say a prayer and it was Father Alphonse. With this event it was
very important to try to involve the rectory, school staff, and most importantly our SPS families.
This was a great way to incorporate our cultures into the school setting for Social Studies. It is
also important that our students get to taste different foods that normally they may have not tried
in the past. This enables not only our students, but SPS families as well by expanding our
palate and having fun. Thank you everyone for participating in this new delicious event!
