We are very excited to announce the first annual St. Peter Night of the Arts and Sciences…our grand opportunity to showcase the talent and skills of all of our students and staff.
The doors of the school will open wide at 5:00 pm on Tuesday May 13 and all families, guests and visitors, will be escorted into the gym for our opening event led by Mr. Ray Barry our Music teacher, Ms. Kim Mortise, our Instrumental Music instructor from the Paul Effman studios in Buffalo, NY, and Mrs. Jennifer Morello, SPS Multiage teacher, and Director of our recent presentation of the Wizard of Oz.
Exiting from the musical performances, guests will be escorted on a gallery walk through the halls of our school, where student writing samples and pieces of art work will be displayed. Our Art teacher, Mrs. Annie Rychlik, has been busy in each of her classes every week, to make sure that our students are exposed to a variety of art experiences, and media. Her displays of student work will be seen on table displays and on the walls as guests walk from the gym towards the cafeteria.
Once guests reach the cafeteria they will be entering a “Scientific Wonderland.” The combined efforts of Dr. Robert Campo, our middle school Science teacher and aka “Dr. Science” to all students in Grades PreK-5, and Mr. Mark Gaynor, STREAM coordinator will be available for all to see… touch… and experience. We will show a variety of Science experiments, our greenhouse, a van De Graff generator, 3D printers and a robotics playground where guests can operate the robots on display…and so much more!
Mrs. Nancy Kehoe, our cafeteria manager, will be on hand to serve complimentary ice cream sundaes to top off the evening. All are invited and we hope you and your families will take this evening to stop in and see what we are all about, and to share in the celebration of all we have done at the greatest school ever…ST. PETER RC SCHOOL.
